New Dr. Grupal S. Bhuller Award

At the Fourth Annual Wine & Dine gala November 5, 2011 SHEF honored its founding Board Chair, Dr. Gurpal S. Bhuller with an award in his name.  

Following this year's honor, the SHEF Board of Directors will present the award annually to two individuals.  One to an individual who exemplifies Dr. Bhuller's excellence in the pursuit of training, and another who demonstrates personal commitment in achieving SHEF's mission. 

More information on the nominations process for the Dr. Gurpal S. Bhuller awards will be available in 2012.

SHEF Scholarship Applications Available Online

Over the last five years, SHEF has awarded over $400,000 in scholarships to students seeking support for their nursing education.  Individuals living, working or studying in the Tri-Cities area are eligible to apply for assistance. 

The online scholarship application is available!  Cut down on the paperwork by completing most information online and submitting transcripts by mail.

Supporting education through scholarships, SHEF is committed to growing the number of healthcare workers who live and work in Southside Virginia.  Our service region includes the tri-cties of Petersburg, Hopewell and Colonial Heights and the counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George, Sussex and southeastern Chesterfield. 

When residents from our region find great, well-paying jobs in our own backyard, they stay here, raise families here and build their lives here.  Scholarship applications are accepted from individuals affiliated with the region as a resident, healthcare employee or student.
